Yard waste pickup will continue through December 8, 2017.

Please remember to always have your garbage, recycling and yard waste out at the curb by 7 a.m. on your pickup day.

IMPORTANT CHANGES AND INFORMATION FOR JANUARY 1, 2018

Beginning January 1, 2018 residential recycling will be picked up weekly on the same day as customer's garbage is picked up. 

Also starting January 1, 2018 a new electronics and household hazardous waste disposal program will begin.  This program called Waste Management’s At Your Door Special Collection program will pick up electronic waste and household hazardous wastes from your home.  Check back here for more information-- details coming soon!

The City of Joliet has contracted with Waste Management, Inc., to provide collection service for garbage, recyclables, and landscape waste throughout the City of Joliet on 5 different days of the week.  On certain holidays, the collection service does not occur on the scheduled day, but collection service resumes on the following day.  The Holiday Collection Schedule for 2017 is listed below.  If you have any questions concerning the schedule or your pick-up day, please contact Waste Management at 815-280-7854.

Medications (unused, expired or unwanted)
Medication should NEVER be discarded down the drain or thrown into the garbage. Unused, expired and unwanted medication is a health and safety risk, as well as a potential threat to waterways. Drop off locations for medications are located at the City of Joliet Police Department at 150 W. Washington and the Far West Police Substation at 7196 Caton Farm Road.
