ATTENTION METRA AND AMTRAK COMMUTERS

As of Wednesday, April 11, 2018, the new train station building will be open to the public. Amtrak and Metra ticket agents will operate from the new building and the temporary trailers will be closed. Metra ticket agent hours are M-F from 4:30 am to 12:30 pm. Amtrak ticket agent hours are M-F from 5:15 am to 3:00 pm, and Sat-Sun 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. Site work and construction activities will continue on the street and parking lot thru May.

As of Monday, February 12, 2018, Amtrak and Metra-Heritage Corridor passengers will board trains from the new Heritage Corridor Platform. The new platform is accessed thru pedestrian tunnels as shown on the map. The temporary wooden platform, stairs and ramp placed in service September 26, 2014, has been closed permanently.

As of Friday, September 26, 2014, at 10:00 A.M., Metra and Amtrak passenger rail services for Joliet relocated from the existing Joliet Union Station Platforms to the newly constructed platforms for the Joliet Gateway Center.

The existing Union Station tunnel will be open Monday thru Friday from 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

NEW TRAIN STATION OPENS BEGINNING WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11, 2018
The new train station will open to the public on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 4:30 am. Please join us for complimentary coffee and donuts in the main lobby between 4:30 am and 10:00 am to celebrate. Thank you for your patience.

NEW HERITAGE CORRIDOR PLATFORM & ACCESS TUNNELS OPEN BEGINNING MONDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2018
The new Heritage Corridor Platform will open to the public on Monday, February 12, 2018. This new raised brick paver platform is located between the tracks for boarding of Amtrak or Metra - Heritage Corridor trains. Access to the center platform is thru two new pedestrian tunnels. The entrance for the south tunnel is thru the main portico entrance of the new train station located on Mayor Art Schultz Drive between Washington Street and Jefferson Street. The north tunnel entrance is located on Mayor Art Schultz Drive between Van Buren Street and Clinton Street.

Both tunnels are equipped with stairs and elevators allowing for ADA access to the new platform.
