The City is in discussions with Cullinan Properties to develop a 265 acre mixed-use development adjacent to I-55, north of I-80. This project would bring an exciting mix of retail, entertainment, lodging, office and housing to Joliet. The City is also working with the Illinois Department of Transportation on phase I engineering to construct a full interchange at I-55 & Route 59.
The City has partnered with MyGrain Brewing to create Joliet’s first microbrewery in a major downtown redevelopmnent project. The microbrewery and full-service restaurant will be located in Joliet Union Station. Renovations are nearly completed and will result in the transformation of vacant and underutilized space into a new entertainment venue to serve the community as well as visitors from other towns. The beer will be flowing in July!
